Childhood and adolescence of Chris Evans

Christopher Robert was born in 1981 in Boston into the family of a dentist and dancer – G. Robert Evans III and Lisa Capuano. In addition to Chris, the family had three more children – sisters Carly and Shaniyu and son Scott. Despite having four children, Chris’s mom chose not to remain a housewife and became the artistic director of the Concord Youth Theater in Sudbury. In 1992, Christopher’s entire family moved there.

Chris attended Lincoln Sudbury Regional School until 1999. During his studies, he was very fond of humanitarian subjects and was rather cold towards the exact sciences. The boy also dreamed of becoming a pioneer and living in the forest, so Chris collected survival guides in the wild. He wanted to be a daredevil. However, reading comics at school, he could not imagine that he would ever be able to transform into a superhero.

Film career and directorial debut

In 1999, after graduating from Lincoln Regional High School, Christopher went to New York and entered the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. The young man took part in castings and polished his acting skills in small institute productions.

In 2000, after numerous castings, Evans got his first film role – he was offered to play Judd in the family drama Newcomers, directed by James Allen Bradley. Having completed his first work on the screen, he immediately starred in three television series: Opposite Sex (Kari Baston), The Fugitive (Zach), and Boston Public (Neil Mavromatis).

In 2001, Joel Gallen’s comedy melodrama Not Another Teen Movie was released, in which Chris Evans and Kyler Lee played the main roles of Jack Weiler and Jenny Briggs, school stars who decided to turn a rogue girl into the first beauty of the school. Critics smashed the film, but many viewers liked the picture.

Chris managed to become a popular Hollywood actor thanks to filming in the detective thriller Cellular in 2004. In it, Evans played Ryan, a random character that the main character was able to reach. His partners in the film were the courageous Jason State (Ethan) and the incomparable Kim Basinger (Jessica).

In 2005, Tim Storey’s Fantastic Four was released. Then Chris Evans became part of an amazing acting quartet along with Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, and Ioann Griffith. Evans was remembered by the audience as Johnny Storm, subjugating the fire element.

In 2006, the actor injured his leg, so he stopped acting for several months. But immediately after his recovery, he tried voice acting in two cartoons, Battle for Terra (Stewart) and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (Casey). In the same year, Evans starred in the fantastic thriller “Inferno” and the comedy film “The Nanny Diaries”. Scarlett Johansson became his partner in the second film.

In the period from 2006 to 2010, Chris Evans starred in several more films. Particularly successful was his role in the thriller Push (2009), where he played Nick Gant, as well as participation in the romantic action movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) – where Evans appeared as Lucas Lee.

Captain America

Chris Evans gained the greatest popularity in 2011 after the first role of Steve Rogers with his alter ego Captain America in the Marvel blockbuster series.

Preparations for filming in Captain America were intensified. Evans gained muscle mass by working out muscles daily and playing sports under the supervision of a coach who coached Daniel Craig for the role of 007 in the movie Casino Royale. According to Chris, the costumes of Captain America weighed a lot, so during the day of filming, together with sweat, three to four kilograms of live weight went out of him.

Immediately after its release, in 2011, Captain America: The First Avenger was nominated for several film awards at once, and Chris Evans at the Scream Awards was awarded as the best superhero in cinema.

2012 brought the actor two million dollars for filming in the continuation of the superhero cycle. On the set of The Avengers, Evans also met and befriended Robert Downey Jr. Chris was delighted with the simplicity and lack of stardom of the world-famous actor.

The next film by Evans under the contract with Marvel was the adventure story about Captain America – Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014. Immediately after the big success in the cinema, filming began for the next part – The Avengers. Age of Ultron. The actor’s fee rose to seven million dollars in 2015, and in 2016, after continuing the cycle in the film Captain America: Civil War, it was already fifteen million dollars. According to Forbes, Chris became the highest-paid actor in 2016.

2018 brought Marvel fans a long-awaited sequel to the Steve Rogers epic in The Avengers: Infinity War. On set, Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Guardians of the Galaxy along with The Avengers met.

In the summer of 2019, another film about the Marvel Universe with the participation of Chris Evans set the world record for the box office (over two billion). Evans received a fee of fifteen million dollars for the already familiar role of Captain America in The Avengers: Endgame.
