Jason Statham has become a character in the next generation of action movies, surpassing Stallone and Schwarzenegger. He does not have such impressive muscles as the previous heroes, but he is very dexterous and agile. Statham is a desperate bad guy. Once you start watching a movie with this actor, you cannot be 100% sure that he will win. And yet, behind a brutal appearance, there is a person who can empathize with the weak and stand up for their protection.

Statham has been in excellent physical shape since childhood and has been involved in sports and martial arts. Unlike most of his colleagues, he did not dream of cinema and did not study at the theater school, but grew up in a creative atmosphere. It was not difficult for the former athlete to switch to a modeling career, and then participate in the filming. In the first films, he played himself, later becoming the star of blockbusters, for which you need to train a lot. This was nothing new to him.

Childhood and adolescence

Jason Michael Statham (Jason Michael Statham) was born in Great Britain, in Saybrook near Manchester, on July 26, 1967. His parents earned money by performing in an amateur theater, and his father from time to time was invited to the restaurant of a local hotel to play the piano.

Jason and his older brother were on their own most of the time and grew up on the street. They had to fight with the neighboring boys, so they practiced martial arts under the guidance of their father.

From the age of 10, Jason spent all his free hours at school at the Schiebroek Sports Complex. The boy was healthy and well-built, so he was admitted to several sections at once.

At some point, he became interested in diving. In this sport, he excelled and was part of the UK national team, but he was not selected to participate in the Olympics.

The Statham family was very poor, and the boys’ parents moved to Great Yarmouth in search of permanent work. Jason enjoyed watching his father’s performances and adopted some acting skills for successful street commerce. He had to earn his own pocket money, and the guy learned to incredibly persuade passers-by to buy jewelry and fake branded watches.

The beginning of a creative career

12 years after starting diving, it became clear that Jason’s sports career was nearing completion. He urgently needed to look for another area in which he was going to excel. The guy chose in favor of a modeling career.

Despite the relatively short height of 175 cm, he looked great in photographs. In the 90s, Stateham participated in advertising campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Levi’s, and French Connection. The beginning of his arrival in the cinema began with the proposal of producer Matthew Vaughn to the management of the French Connection brand to sponsor Guy Ritchie’s film Lock, Stock, Two Barrels. The deal went through, and the company introduced Richie to their model Jason Statham.

From the first meeting, Richie knew that he had found the perfect antihero. The director planned to shoot psychological crime films for which Statham’s type suited perfectly. They quickly became friends, and Guy Ritchie invited Jason to his next films.

Appearing in the late 90s in three films by the British director: Lock, Stock, Two Barrels, Big Jackpot, and Revolver, Statham landed a role in the American film Turn It Up. Since the 2000s, he has been successfully filming in Hollywood in four franchises at once: “Adrenaline”, “Carrier”, “The Expendables” and “Fast and Furious”.

Personal life

When he was an athlete, Jason devoted a lot of time to training and could not, like his classmates, often go with girls to cafes and clubs. Everything changed when the young man went into the modeling business. He attended parties and presentations. Even in the studio where the photo shoots took place, beautiful models were always spinning. His romances with them quickly flared up and abruptly ended.

From the late 90s to the mid-2000s, Statham dated British actress Kelly Brook. She was a real businesswoman and attracted the actor with her independence and punchy character. Further, the tabloids wrote about his short-lived relationship with singer Sophie Monk and several Hollywood starlets.

Serious feelings broke out in Statham in 2010 for the British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. They met at one of the parties and for 6 years rubbed themselves against each other, which was accompanied by quarrels and partings.
