Doubt (2008)
She was selected as perhaps one of the best-supporting entertainers. In ‘Doubt’ Adams assumed the part of Sister James and this character can be considered as a portrayal of the school and the soul of America before the Vatican II Board. Which tries to maintain neutrality in the conflict between Sister Aloysius, played by Meryl Streep, and the progressive Father Flynn, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. Many of them were scenes of childhood, inner conflict, and moral dilemmas in which she was at her best. Adams was not placed in the same league as such legends as Streep or Hoffman but rather warmly embraced and she received quite good reviews along with her second Oscar-nominated performance.
The Fighter (2010)
Adams, the comic relief in “The Fighter”, portrayed Charlene Fleming, the strong-willed and inspiring girlfriend of the boxer. They argued that she was a strong and dependable woman who would be suitable for the home as opposed to what was being depicted in the film. Adams did a remarkable job that should have earned her the third Academy Award nomination.
The Master(2012)

This movie had Adams play the role of Peggy Dodd, the wife to a Master. A cult leader played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. To an extent, with her reasoning while acting, though she overpowered Peggy as she played the lady, a submissive character though the lady behind the character was a manipulative one. Adams was able to find the emotional side of this multifaceted character from desperation to leadership and this is the fourth Oscar nomination.
American Hustle(2013)
He had two mistresses in his life: the first one was Sydney Prosser, and the second one was Edith Greensly. The first time Adams received a nomination in the category of Best Actress was for her portrayal of Sydney Prosser.
