No wonder it is said: the ways of the Lord are mysterious. History testifies to us that human life can transform in the blink of an eye and improve dramatically. So it was with Eminem after meeting Dr. Dre; with street musician James Bowen after an article about him and his gorgeous cat named Bob; and David Michael Batista Jr. after receiving a suspended criminal record.

Dave Bautista is an American actor, bodybuilder, and mixed martial artist. He was born on January 18, 1969, in Washington DC. As an actor, Dave has starred in such films as Iron Fist, Riddick, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Bautista also worked on the painting “Dune”, which will appear on screens in 2020.

Childhood and youth of Dave Bautista

Dave was born on January 18, 1969. It occurred in Washington, the city of the United States of America. His mother, Donna, was Greek by nationality, and his father, David Michael Bautista, Sr., was a native of the Republic of the Philippines. The family split up even before the boy went to school.

Childhood Bautista generally turned out to be dysfunctional – even before his tenth year, he had witnessed three murders, and at the age of 13, he got on a slippery slope, starting to steal cars. There was no question of any schoolwork.

In 1986, the guy tried to “quit” the crime. To make a living (by that time Dave was already living on his own), Batista got a job as a bouncer at a local club. Once, while calming another violent visitor, Bautista overdid it. A few days later he received a subpoena. Thanks to the lawyer, we managed to achieve the minimum possible sentence – a year’s probation. This event made the guy seriously rethink his life and redistribute priorities.

The very following day, Dave received a position as a beach lifeguard and started to consume all his free time in the gym. In his biography, Dave noticed that this choice redeemed his life.

Films of Dave Bautista

Dave first appeared on the screen in 2006. Bautista’s movie introduction is the comedy “Strange Relatives” including Danny DeVito and Katie Bates. The earliest television character has recognized a role in one of the episodes of the series “Smallville”.

The next chance to get into the movies and on TV had to wait for four whole years – in 2010 Batista appeared in the series “Chuck” and two full-length films.

The wrestler starred in the third section of The Scorpion King. It is noteworthy that in the previous two, his colleague Dwayne Scala Johnson was involved.

Dave appeared in Riddick, a sequel to Black Hole and The Chronicles of Riddick, starring Vin Diesel.

2014 delivered Bautista a role that made it likely to forget about wrestling, completely rearranging to acting. We are talking about Drax the Destroyer from the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy. Dave returned to this image in the second part, which was released in 2017. The actor shared in an interview that applying makeup at the beginning of the project took 3 hours, and removing it took another hour, during which he had to stand. Dave had to wear makeup every day, which had a very negative effect on the condition of his skin. In continuation, the process was significantly reduced in time.

In the next part of the James Bond film – “007: Specter”, where, according to the artist, there were the most difficult stunts in his entire career, Batista reincarnated as Mr. Hinks.

The artist participated in the creation of “Blade Runner 2049” – the second part of the film adaptation of the cult novel by Philip K. Dick. Despite his sports biography, in this film, as in most others, in the fight scenes, Batista resorted to the help of Rob de Groot’s understudy. The actor feels guilty that his skills do not help on the court, as he trained differently in wrestling, but with the help of a professional, Dave learns to create a spectacle in the frame.

The artist had to suffer again under a layer of makeup in the role of Drax the Destroyer in the films of the Marvel series “The Avengers. Infinity War ”and“ Avengers: Endgame ”, which began a one-year separation.

To go beyond the usual boundaries, Batista wanted to star in a comedy. His choice fell on the buddy movie, Michael Daus’s action movie “Ali, rudders”. Shaping the character of his character, on the advice of the director, Dave imitated Nick Nolte, combining a gloomy image with sarcasm and notes from comics.

The artist had a chance to meet on the set with the legend of action movies Sylvester Stallone while working on the sequels to the movie “Escape”.
