Pom Klementieff is a French actress best known for her role as Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film series. Short biography

French actress Pom Clementieff was born on May 3, 1986, in Quebec, Canada. Her father, Alexis Clementieff, who has both French and Russian roots, was an employee of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Immediately at the time of the birth of his daughter Pom, he was serving as consul in Quebec.

There is little information about the mother of the actress. She is known to be of Korean descent. Therefore, it is not surprising that the name Pom Klementieff is consonant with the Korean words “spring” and “tiger”.

Shortly after the birth of the actress, her father was sent to work in Japan. So, one-year-old Pom moved to the “land of the rising sun”, and then the Klementieff family settled on the coast of Cote D’Ivoire. And only a few years later they finally settled in France, where the girl was growing up. However, it was here that Pom and her loved ones faced very difficult life trials.

At the age of five, she lost her father, who had been struggling with an incurable disease for a long time. And the mother of the actress was diagnosed with schizophrenia, because of which she could no longer take care of her children. Before her acting career, Pom Klementieff worked as a waitress and salesperson. In 2007, she made her professional debut in the French independent film Life After Him. Pom played a girl named Emily, who is the stepdaughter of the main character played by Catherine Deneuve.

A year later, Klementieff appeared in Jean-Paul Rouve’s biopic No Evil, No Blood, No Barrel (2008), which was based on the life story of a real-life robber Albert Spajari.

And in 2009, her first major role happened in her cinematic career. French director Nicolas Vanier invited the actress to play a heroine named Nastasya in his dramatic film The Wolf. Klementieff harmoniously blended into the image of one of the members of the Evenk tribe, who lead their life in the harsh conditions of the Siberian mountains and the overwhelming power of the endless wilderness.

In the same year, she appeared in seven episodes of the French television series “Night Pigalle”, where she played a girl named Sandra. To date, this role is the only television work of the actress.

In 2010, Klementieff acted in only one short film “Qu’est-ce qu’on fait?”, And a year later she played different characters in five films at once. In the action movie Loyal Businesswoman, she appeared as a girl named Naomi, in the crime thriller Sleepless Night, the actress played Lucy.
