Is there gonna be another album?
This year there were rumours that the band Def Leppard will release a new album in 2020. It would be their 12th studio album.
Guitarist Campbell said that band wouldn’t be able to put on an album in 12 months. A more possible idea is making a couple of tracks, but not a whole album. Campbell said that there are a couple of Def Leppard song ideas and the band is hoping to release something in 2020, but he is sceptical about an album.
But still, there are rumours about the band working in a recording studio, and eight songs that have been put to tape. Of course, how can there be rumours about the new album and not about a world tour? There are rumours about Def Leppard planning a worldwide tour at the end of 2020, but there is no more information on that.
Why records is so important for Def Leppard?
Nowadays some fewer people are listening to records. Def Leppard is one of a kind band that still makes records. It is very important for the band that they make new music because they are a group of creative individuals, that started making music to fulfil their creativity.
A lot of old days bands have been forgotten, that’s why this is one of the reasons why they need to keep creating new music, keep writing songs and making records.
They go out and play great old songs that people love, but they understand that they need to create something new, to stay in the music business, and for their happiness.
A little history about the band
Def Leppard formed as an English hard rock band in 1977 with five members. “Hysteria” is their best-selling album worldwide. The album topped the American and British album charts.
The band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. “Pyromania” and “Hysteria” are two albums with RIAA diamond certification. And they are one of five rock bands that have two original studio albums selling over 10 million copies in the U.S.
