Career

Pascal’s debut in the NBA took place in 2016. The Cameroonian entered the pitch in the first team, replacing the leading player at the time of his injury. With his participation, the team soon beat the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks teams. And the athlete himself gained a decent number of points – from game to game. Despite this, in 2017 he ended up on the bench, and his playing time, unfortunately, dropped noticeably. For this reason, Pascal was transferred to the Raptors 905, which is a subsidiary of the Toronto Raptors. This team played only in the NBA Development League. In the League, Siakam very quickly became the Champion, and in the end – and the most useful player in the finals. Such results allowed the athlete to return to the main team at the end of the 2016-2017 season. True, he was again on the bench and practically did not play.

In the next season 2017-2018, Pascal again remained on the bench for a long time, until Valanciunas was eliminated due to injury. Then the Cameroonian had a chance to play in the starting five. And only after the match in Oakland, he was able to show himself and, as a result, began to spend more time on the court. It should be noted that Siakam still had a problem with long shots. Although this season he has already noticeably improved his results. Despite this, he was able to bring his team a good amount of points. He received recognition from the leader of the team, DeRozan, who spoke positively about the Cameroonian basketball player. At the end of the season, Pascal was already among the twenty best players in the NBA and finished it with a good personal rating.

The next season 2018-2019 was very productive for Siakam, and many viewers called him a breakthrough in the athlete’s career. He played with the strongest teams – Gasol and Leonard, who replaced the retired DeRozan. The result of the first half of the season was the establishment of several personal points records. There were a lot more assists, rebounds, and three-point shots. The number of his double-doubles reached sixteen per season. This gave the Cameroonian the opportunity to firmly establish himself in the ESPN Top 25. At the end of the season, Siakam was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player, beating Rose, Fox, and Russell.

In the 2019-2020 season, Leonard dropped out of Toronto. His place in the starting five was undoubtedly taken by Pascal, becoming the leading scorer. During the season, he scored a large number of points, differing again in the number of assists, rebounds, and shots. At that time, Siakam became a really confident professional, leading the whole team to victory. And it is thanks to him that “Toronto Raretors” is leading in all regular championships.

At the end of the 2019-2020 season, the Cameroonian basketball player was included in the list of players in the IBA All-Star Game – and immediately in the starting five players.
