John Cusack<\/strong> apologized to his 1 million followers<\/strong> and everyone else offended, just moments after sharing an anti-semitic meme<\/strong>, claiming it was a mistake.

He admitted that the meme was insensitive and offensive, also the 52-year-old stated that it was \u201cregrettably retweeted\u201d<\/em> on Twitter.<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is nothing new for the actor, as he frequently shares his political views on social media, and has called for the impeachment of Donald Trump several times.<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this time it wasn\u2019t about Mr. President.<\/strong>

False Quotation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On a regular Monday, John Cusack shared a tweet – and it was a meme.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meme\u2019s illustration was a hand crushing a group of people.<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

…And on the hand\u2019s sleeve there was the Star of David<\/strong>, if that still isn\u2019t offensive for you, then check this:

John Cusack added his <\/strong>message – \u201cFollow the money.\u201d<\/em>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, the meme, \u201cSay Anything\u201d<\/strong> star had retweeted included a quote falsely attributed to the French philosopher Voltaire<\/strong>. The quote was, \u201cTo learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.\u201d<\/em>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voltaire never said anything like that, so it turns out, that the quote was said by a white nationalist<\/strong> named Kevin Strom as actress Tracy Ann Oberman<\/strong> points out.

Mr. Cusack Reacted Quickly<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When you have 1 million followers information moves very fast and Cusack deleting the retweet quickly after it was shared, didn\u2019t help, so he had to apologize.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cSay Anything\u201d star later explained that a \u2018bot\u2019 got him<\/strong> and he thought he was sharing a pro-Palestine<\/strong> tweet, but it turns out Cusack wasn\u2019t looking at it, as Cusack himself says.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thought I was criticizing the horrible bombing of a hospital in Palestine, not sharing the content of an alt-right account,\u201d<\/em> he told.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actor, after telling his followers plenty of times that he shared the tweet by mistake, and that he was ashamed of doing that, also started to explain he thought the Star of David in the image was representing the Israeli flag.<\/strong>
