What we can expect from Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming movies
We can expect a lot of action from actors in upcoming movies. There will be a lot of fiction movies and even some of them will include superheroes.
The actor’s year started with a movie called “Fighting with my family”, the story is about a family who lives in England and they all are wrestlers – both parents and their son and daughter. Both kids dream of joining World Wrestling Entertainment. And of course, that’s where The Rock comes in, he meets both kids at the tryouts. Dwayne Johnson only has a small part in the movie, but he got to play himself.
Upcoming action movies
Fast & Furious spin-off is happening to star The Rock and Jason Statham. They will play two agents that team up to fight against a criminal mastermind called “Brixton”. Even actress Vanessa Kirby from “The Crown” will join both actors in the movie as Statham’s on-screen sister.
Back in 2017 movie Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle became a hit. And now there may be a sequel. All actors will join Dwayne in the second movie.
Continuing the jungle theme, Johnson will play the riverboat captain in the movie “Jungle Cruise”. The movie is set during the Great Depression. The Rock as a riverboat captain takes two scientists, played by Emily Blunt and Jack Whitehall as brother and sister, on a dangerous jungle mission to find a mythical tree that has healing powers.
Projects for the year 2020
Do you see Dwayne Johnson as a king? Well, he will be one in a movie called “The King.” The actor will play King Kamehameha, he was the first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawaii. It is a great role for Johnson because he spent some of his teenage years in Hawaii.
“I’m humbled and grateful to begin this once and in lifetime journey. from the day I began my Hollywood career, my dream was to bring this legacy to life,” told Johnson.
Movies in development
“Red Notice” is a movie about an Interpol agent who needs to capture the most wanted art thief in the world. Dwayne Johnson will play the Interpol agent together with Gal Gadot.
The Rock will play a doc in the movie “Doc Savage.” Doc is the world’s first superhero who debuted back in 1933. The new movie will be set in the 1930s. There is no word on when this movie will go into production.
Dwayne Johnson will be back for “San Andreas” second movie. All of the previous cast members will be returning for second the movie.
“Big Trouble In Little China” a 1986 movie will have a new take and The Rock in the center. Johnson will also work as a producer. The movie will not be a remake, but more like a continuation of the original movie.
Dwayne will become a DC Comics character, an ancient Egyptian villain.
And the last movie where we know that Dawayne Johnson will star is called “Alpha Squad Seven.” It is a sci-fi action comedy set in space. There has been no news about this movie since 2015, but it seems that it might go on work.
