Bruce Dern is the most experienced and most popular actor in Hollywood who has acted in lots of movies and he has been nominated for the Oscars award two times. Since he was also a versatile actor in the roles he undertook, Dern was nominated severally for Oscars proving that he was a professional and he had a lot of passion for acting. Bruce Dern could be described as an actor in a certain kind of roles and he has been actively participating in movies for years. The Film: This moving anti-war drama shows the issues of a paralyzed Marine and his wife following their efforts to start a normal life. 

Dern’s Role: He played the role of ‘Bob Hyde’ a role that is an ex-marine and a buddy of the main character. The elements of the movie are as follows: In Dern’s performance of the intricate and wicked Hyde, the movie gained realistic tones and layers of sin. His work was Oscar-nominated. 

In “Coming Home”, Dern provided a good example of how to perform the various aspects of a character and contributed to the improvement of the movie’s storyline. Even though he has not been able to secure the Oscar, the nomination puts him in the league of great and credible actors.

Dern is very realistic in portraying Captain Hyde and the character is depicted to be a man who finds it very hard to contain his emotions. Due to this post-war experience, his character suffers a lot of conflict and this makes scenes dramatic and powerful to show his acting skills.

The movie depicts the scenario when Woody gets a letter about the presence of a fortune and takes his son, Will Forte, for a ride.

Dern does a very credible job portraying Woody Grant and as a whole, the movie is not too over the top with the sentimentality of the story. He has played the character of a man who is old and has attempted to depict the scenario of a man who is almost ready to lose his memory. But he wants hope and respect in his life. Comedian, a happy man, a man who has seen many things, a man who has lived.

Dern in the movie “Nebraska” was well appreciated and the man got the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor and an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Several of the critics pointed out that he managed to find calmness and at the same time vulnerability to the role.
